Longman & Eagle:

A refreshed bar, plus some good PR

Client: Land & Sea Department

Role: Director of Marketing & Partnerships

Longman & Eagle is a contemporary take on a traditional Chicago inn— and a longstanding crown jewel in the Chicago culinary scene.

Focusing on local, sustainable meat and produce, rare and fine whisky, and thoughtful, considered service, the restaurant offers all-day service, as well as six rooms for overnight guests.

As Director of Marketing for Land and Sea Dept, I was tasked with the marketing, promotion and creative strategy behind both the flagship restaurant and a new venture— a “bar inside a bar” that would operate as a cool companion to L&E, right on our back sidewalk patio.

L&E has been around for decades—long enough to see our neighborhood change over time. As a company made up of artists and former service workers ourselves, we knew we needed to adapt alongside our neighborhood while still providing our longstanding guests with the hospitality and service they’ve allowed us to provide for so long.

OSB was created for them, for those who just want an easy shift beer after work on their walk home, and for anyone who wants an approachable take on what we do so well at Longman and Eagle—damn good food in a place you feel at ease.
